Transimage is platform for politics of moving images. It explores the key elements in constituting the image – space beyond/across it such as ideology, technology, cultural and sociopolitical context, and history.
The main objective of the Transimage platform is to reinforce the critical and experimental practices and discourses in contemporary medium of moving images in both local and international contexts. By linking collectives and individuals, methods and tools, poetics and politics from Serbia, Europe and elsewhere through producing, exhibiting, screening, ‘re-thinking’ specific films and videos; Transimage would provide critical reflection and analysis of the current position and influence of moving images in contemporary and global society.
Transimage is initiated by Doplgenger and based in Belgrade, Serbia.
Transimage started as a long-term project. Its promotion began in September 2010 in the UK where in the context of FringeMK Doplgenger shared an experience of intense month of discussions, presentations, workshops, screenings, meetings and networking. Soon after followed the presentations in Croatia at Cinema club Split and at French Festival Images Contre Nature.
Since the beginning of 2013 Transimage operates as an independent cultural organization and develops various projects, programs and activities.
Transimage is a member of International Independent Film Platform, Wych Forum.
